FDC National Council elect Byamugisha Moses as Deputy President

The 17th FDC National Council meeting that was held on the 15th December 2023 at the party headquarters Najanankumbi among other resolutions voted Mr Byamugisha Moses as the Deputy President to serve in the office till 2028.

Amidst resistance from the embattled Party President Eng Amuriat who tried to resist Mr Byamugisha’s vote was over-ruled by the unanimous decision of the whole house, the decision was confirmed by FDC party leaders who had gathered from 132 districts that were present.

Byamugisha was considered by the National Council as someone who may foster much-needed unity because of his publicly known strong ties with the key leaders of the FDC Katonga team.

The council members also reasoned that since they hope Byamugisha will be the next Party President, he should in the meantime be part of the leadership to familiarize himself with the party’s administrative arrangements.

Moses accepted the vote of confidence & pledged to serve without providing more details.
