Seven members of Jonam constituency local leaders Saaco in Pakwach District have been arrested for failing to recover emyooga funds. #WhisperEyeNews

This Publication understands that the seven are being held at Pakwach central police station

According to Pakwach Resident District Commissioner Paul Eseru,  “The members acquired 20 million in 2021 but only recovered 5 million to date and have been declining to be  audited by microfinance support centre Arua and auditors from Kampala”

He said the members have also not been holding annual general meetings.

He blamed the arrested members for failing to provide clear accountability

Emyooga Program was launched in 2019 as one of the Job and wealth creation initiative aimed at eradicating poverty amongst 68% of Ugandans locked in subsistence to money-oriented production.
