YEMI ALADE UPS THE TEMPO WITH  “LIPEKA” TOWARDS HER ANTICIPATED NEW ALBUM

Global Afropop superstar Yemi Alade is an unstoppable force, and in her true element and brand, she has released a brand new single “Lipeka” featuring Congolese artist Innoss’B. This dynamic and surprise collaboration is poised to set the music scene ablaze.

With Yemi Alade’s signature cross-cultural approach and Innoss’B’s distinctive blend of Congolese Rumba, the outcome of “Lipeka” is a catchy and infectious Afro dance track infused with Lingala, French and Nigerian lingua. The duo have created a musical masterpiece that transcends borders and celebrates the rich diversity of African music.

Yemi Alade is stirring excitement and tantalizing taste of her upcoming seventh body of work set for release in the last quarter of 2023. In 2020, Yemi Alade became a UNDP Goodwill ambassador adding to her long list of responsibilities which includes her own charity named James and Helen PathWay Foundation. 

ABOUT INNOSS’B

Born Innocent Didace Balume, known as Innoss’b developed a love of music from his parents and learned to sing as a child. When he was seven, Innoss’b joined up with his older brothers as Maisha Soul, and the group earned some regional notoriety by winning first prize at a talent contest during the Goma Tourism Fair. His talent even as a boy was apparent, and when American-Senegalese star Akon launched the inaugural season of Vodacom Superstars talent contest in the DRC, Innoss’b parents signed him up. The 12-year-old went on to win the first and only Vodacom Superstars contest and the chance to record a single, “Up and Away”with Akon. He went on to build a successful recording career, releasing three solo albums over the next decade, collaborating with Congolese legends like Werrason and Koffi Olomide, and notching hit singles with songs like “Yo Pe” and “Mon Boulot”. In 2013, he signed with Interglobe Music to release his debut album titled ‘Innocent’, two more albums, ‘Cha Cha’ and ‘Turn on the Radio’, followed in 2016. He released his fourth album, ‘Mortel-06’ in 2021 and ‘Afrocongo Planet Live’ in 2023.
