As Uganda was celebrating 61 years of Independence Anniversary on 09th October 2023, a theme of the celebration was set: “SUSTAINING A UNITED AND PROGRESSIVE NATION: Taking Charge of our Future as a Free Nation.”
In my opinion, this is a great theme and highly achievable. But how can we as individuals – including all leaders at different levels of leadership, and well-wishers from other nations, together with different institutions, ensure a united and progressive Uganda? I have in my opinion decided to share a simple article titled (BUILDING BRIDGES, NOT WALLS: Strategies for National Unity and Progress) stating some principles and strategies that can be explored to ensure a united and progressive nation
Dear reader, a united and progressive nation is the cornerstone of a thriving and prosperous society. By fostering a sense of unity and continuously striving for progress, a nation can overcome challenges, achieve sustainable development, and ensure a bright future for its citizens. In this article we will explore the key principles and strategies that contribute to sustaining a united and progressive nation.

Sustaining a united and progressive nation requires a collective effort from all citizens, communities, and institutions. By fostering unity, promoting progress, and ensuring effective governance, a nation can lay the foundation for a prosperous future. It is through these principles and strategies that we can build a society that values diversity, embraces innovation, and upholds the principles of justice and equality. Together, we can create a united and progressive nation (Uganda) that thrives in an ever-changing world, and by so doing we shall be in a position to take charge of our future as a free nation.
