Last season, the club tested the murky waters of the stiff West Nile Regional League season for the first time in history.

Their participation in the regional encounter in Nyagak Zone gave tough times for the already existing “rival and big clubs” who are touted as bulls in the kraal thanks to the commitment of players, staff and fans. The first achievement of the club was getting acclimatized and remaining in the league.

The club finished fourth in its maiden season of the regional league last season raising eyebrows amongst many football fans who predicted their downfall.

Last season, Chancele Motgan, Was at the helm as their head coach but crossed to their rival side Paidha Black Angels SC taking over from the position of assistant coach.

Paidha United SC unveils its team ahead of the new season.

This has left Paidha United  SC with an option of bringing in a new tactician The Legendary  Nega Abraham Ogusi, who was once a coach in the club in the  2018/2019 season. He has a wealth of experience in local football after playing and coaching in the local league for years.

Ogusi returns in the dugout after spending some months away from the coaching career when he parted ways with the Regional league side  Nebbi Central football club in Nebbi Municipality.

The Club CEO Jimmy Dokcen told journalists during the unveiling of the new technical staff that their eyes are set on the country’s second division tier ( big league).

” We tested the regional league last season. The club is in full preparation for the season. It has been our first season and now we know it. This time around, our focus is on big league.” Dokcen said.

As it stands now, The club plans to unveil 20 quality players soonest.

The Club’s new head coach Nega Abraham Ogusi after his unveiling promised to work hand in hand with players, other technical teams and the fans to take the team to the dream land.

” I’m very delighted and happy to be in this club because this is not my first time of coaching this club, I did it successfully with this club in 2019 /2020 season when covid-19 interrupted us” Ogusi explained.

Asked how he plans to steady the ship of the club to achieve their big league qualification.

Ogusi said” I’m not a failure, because I did it with many clubs like Paidha Black Angels as an assistant coach during the premier league time, I was a trainer with the West Nile drum team amongst others. I have trust that together we are going to take this club far”.

Ogusi reiterated his appeal to the Club management to work hand in hand to bring in quality players for the club to achieve its target.

He also appealed for discipline amongst fans putting to notice that hooliganism is a total hazard In the beautiful game of football and in most cases a party spoiler.

The new coach will be deputized by Rwothomio Edward, his local football record equally tells volume given his past local footballing careers right from his school days at  St Aloysius College Nyapea, Paidha Black Angels SC  and his coaching roles in many local clubs and some schools.

Currently, Paidha United SC is fixing their home ground dubbed the ” King Stadium Cana” on the outskirts of Paidha Town. The ground was more of a death cage for most visiting sides last season.

The club since its inception in  2017 has been riding on a reputable leadership structure that they believe is the first lifeblood of every successful organization.

Notwithstanding a string of accusations made against the club on their modus operandi, the club has maintained that their focus is to promote sports in a sportman-like attitude as explained by the club Chairperson Robert Orombi.

” We never formed this club to fight any club in Paidha, Zombo, West Nile or Uganda. Our target or vision is to promote sports in the whole country, Our focus is not in one area and the focus is big” Orombi noted

The regional league is expected to be stiffer than in the past where there used to be few derbies.

In the forthcoming season, Zombo District alone is going to present four clubs in the regional league For the first time in history. These Clubs are Paidha United SC and Paidha Black Angels SC all from Paidha Town Council, Zeu Central FC and Padea Rising Stars FC from Zeu and Paidea Town Council.

Other Clubs are from Nebbi, Pakwach and other parts of the region. All these Clubs are putting their ducks In a row with all eyes fixed on the big league spot come next season.

It’s not going to be a walk in the park but,  The Paidha United SC CEO Jimmy Dokcen is not pessimistic about their walk to the big league.

The Club CEO Jimmy Dokcen explained that ” we have a competent technical team and 20 players that the club plans to unveil”.

The club also unveiled many people in different departments, all in the name of steering the club ahead.

After a long journey from the fifth division in 2017 to just a step ahead to the Uganda Premier League, Time still remain the judge in this tense game of football for Paidha United SC based in Zombo.
