Chief Muzukulu Hadijah Namyaalo announces Date for Pres Museveni’s birthday celebration and honour of Katonga spirits

The Chief Muzukulu Hajati Hadijjah Namyaalo the incharge of the office of the National Chairman on the 29th August held a press conference at Kololo Independence grounds where she announced that the 8th of September 2023 will be the iconic day to celebrate President Museveni’s 79th birth day with the Bazukulu as well as honour and pay respect to the Katonga spirits in honour of the battle of Katonga that was very crucial in the capture of Kampala and liberation of Uganda.

In her speech, Namyaalo said she was instructed by the President to hold the two events simultaneously because the President said without the victory of the battle of Katonga in July 1985, he wouldn’t be where he is and thus he found it necessary to honour those who participated in that bravery battle because it marked the long journey to the liberation of Uganda 6 months later.

“We should all remember that this is not an event for Namyaalo as a person but the president of Uganda who will be the Chief guest at the ceremony. He directed me to conjure the birthday celebration with the honoring of the Katonga spirits because he wanted to appreciate the efforts of those that fought in that decisive battle that brought the NRM to power.’ Namyaalo said

Hajjat Namyalo said the event will run under the theme; “Celebrating Jajja, Lessons From Battles of Katonga; Omalayo Jajja -Tukikube Ku Ballot,” with thousands of Ugandans from various parts of the country expected to attend thus great ceremony
