Luwero mother arrested for torturing her own 4-year-old daughter

Police in Luwero district has detained a 27-year-old woman Nampima Aisha described as a ‘monster mother’ on allegations of torturing her four-year-old child. #WhisperEyeNews #News #UgandaNews

Nampima Aisha is a resident of Kiyenje zone, Luwero town Council, Luwero district. On Tuesday, August 15 th 2023, residents saw Nampima mercilessly beating the four-year-old child.

Nampiima Aisha was seen by residents burning, kicking and beating her own daughter accusing her of stealing meat, The residents intervened through their area councillor Zimula Salim who called the police.

Asp Twiineamazima Sam Pro Savannah said that the police immediately responded and arrested Nampiima Aisha before they transferred her to the Luwero Central police station. Asked why she would torture a minor to that extent, Nampiima Aisha said she was just angry.

She is currently in cells at Luwero Central police station and faces charges of torturing her own child. The victim has been transferred to Kasana Hospital where she is still admitted for treatment, says Asp Twiineamazima Sam.

“A case of child torture was registered and police officers recorded statements from relevant witnesses. Inquiries into this matter are ongoing”, He added.

He described the incident as terrible and a violation of the child’s rights. Cases of child abuse and torture are rampant in Luwero district.
