Massive turn out at Clever J Lugogo concert

Gerald Muwonge, aka Clever J, made a dazzling entrance during his concert at Lugogo in Kampala. This would remain memorable to Ugandan music lovers.

Clever J made an incredible performance during his ”  Eddogo Lyafuluka ” concert at the Lugogo stadium in Kampala on Friday 4 July 2023, and his fans and entertainment lovers couldn’t stop raving about the moment.

The Eddogo Lyafuluka concert is an important event for Uganda music, as the singer is among the underlooked Ugandan artist to have headlined a concert successfully at the stadium this year.

Making a sensational entrance with his hit Manzi Wanani, taken from the first ever singles, clad in his bricks layers clothing, the crowd couldn’t hide their excitement when he took to the stage.

As expected, the Ugandan star, one of the most celebrated musicians, delivered an uninhibited blend of Afrobeat, dancehall and some pop songs drawing rapturous applause from the emotional crowd.

Reactions to this historic concert were mixed, with some Ugandans taking to social media saying that the audience was not as full as expected

The event sparked debate. However, with some videos trending, Some questioned the authenticity of reports that the concert had been a success.

In any case, the scale of the event and the reactions of those who took part illustrate its success.

Clever J, who is considered one of Uganda’s most influential musicians in 2007, has collaborated with Uganda’s number one trending artist Alien Skin, his performance in Lugogo consolidated his position as one of the titans of live Afrobeat.

The concert featured special guests Mesearch Ssemakula, Young Mulo, Alien Skin and Spice Diana, who also wowed the audience.

Financially, the concert was a major success for Clever J who has been financially struggling.

The concert attracted reactions from fans and Ugandan celebrities alike, with many expressing admiration for Events Day promoter Bajjo and Abitex’s contribution.

More than a musical showcase, the event was a celebration of Clever J’s life struggles and life ahead.
