The throat of a 17-year-old teenager only identified as Jovan was slit by an angry mob when he reportedly broke into a kiosk at Kurkudeni trading centre in Angolieru village, Afuda Parish Jangokoro Sub-county Zombo district. #WhisperEyeNews
The Monday 3rd July incident adds to the list of many victims who have recently been lynched by a highly charged mob in every nook and cranny of the Zombo district.
The District councillor of Jangokoro Sub County Binen David Arua who confirmed the incident cautions locals against taking laws into their hands before appealing to youth to engage in productive activities.
” The boy had attempted to break into a kiosk at around 9:00 Pm when the Owner had gone home to pick food, Upon returning, they reportedly got him picking items and they badly hit him with a blunt object before slaughtering him with a knife, this is totally bad, we encourage people to desist from any act of mob action”, Arua Said.
Recently, A man was also lynched on witchcraft allegations in the same Sub-county of Jangokoro and in the neighbouring Subcounty of Athuma, A man was also lynched after he was accused of stealing a Bajaj Motorcycle.
The male district youth Councillor of Zombo Derick Rwothungeyu Ocweda has advised the youth to embrace youth livelihood programs and parish development models to keep away from idleness. He also cautioned the youth against mob action.
There have been choruses of statements against mob action by the DPC of Zombo AS Nelson Nahabwe.
