Man arrested for conning people millions in the  name of Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba

Police at Paidha central police station in Zombo district are having in custody Justine Oryema  a resident of Jangokoro sub county, after he reportedly solicited Ugx 1.3 million from residents of Jangokoro sub county in the name of registering them in the  Mk Army. #WhisperEyeNews

Oryema was apprehended on the 20th of this month at Kawa village, Patek Parish Jangokoro sub county following a tip off from some Concerned residents.

He was found with  documents containing registration sheets, A sum of Ugx 350,000 he reportedly solicited from the locals.

Mk Army is a group that is in full support of  former land forces commander General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, who is also the presidential advisor on special operations.He is viewed by many as the future prospect for the country’s top seat.

The secretary of  MK Army in  Zombo district James Okethwengu told the whispereye news that they immediately involved police  after  receiving  phone calls from some concerned citizens from Jangokoro Sub county about the said suspect.

Okethwengu  also displayed the registration sheet containing names of 91 people who reportedly paid between Ugx 12000_15000 as registration fees to the suspect who  disguised as the The mk Army Parish mobilizer for Patek Parish.

“We have Justin Oryema in custody now, he collected money from 91 people in the name of Mk Army and yet we don’t know him completely.after receiving alarm we informed authorities.we understand he is being used by some people in the district but we are telling the public that as mk Army mobilizers here, we are not getting money from any one” Okethwengu told the whispereye news

The suspect was nearly lynched by some of the  highly charged mob and Jimmy Olony, the former secretary of social services Paidha town council was amongst those that rescued the situation.

Olony cautioned the public against engaging in acts that endangers their lives.

“We rushed to help the suspect who was nearly lynched by angry mob.people should avoid this kind of acts” Olony said.

Recently, The Mk national women league  coordinator  was  in zombo district to launch their grassroot structures and sources say the suspect capitalize on that chance to activate his plan.

Last week, hundreds of Alur Kingdom subjects also cried foul after a man disguising as one of the ministers in Alur Kingdom solicited money from them in the name of bringing each of them dairy cattle.

Police at Paidha central police station are yet to release a statement about the suspect who is currently in Police custody pending investigation.

Deep throat sources at Paidha central police station said more than 100 people have been reportedly scammed by the suspect.

This incident come days after The mk Army deputy spokesperson also the Member of Parliament for Kasambya  county Daudi Kabanda had cautioned members of the public against fraudsters moving in the name of Mk Army country wide.

“The MK Movement would like to inform all our supporters, well wishers, and the general public that  any support to MK Movement is voluntary and volitional.

The General Public is hereby informed that no one should be compelled or blackmailed to contribute to any of the MK Movement activities unless they choose and willingly do so. 

The public should be aware that currently there is no Treasurer for the MK Movement. These and other posts/structures will be established in due course. The public will be notified.” Kabanda said in a communique issued on his official Twitter handle.
