On Friday 5th May 2023, a Delegation of the European Union (EU) to Uganda visited the National Unity Platform (NUP) at her premises in Makerere-Kavule where they discussed various matters of interest to the nation and the region. #WhisperEyeNews
During the discussion, NUP presented the continuing alleged human rights violations in Uganda, the capture of state institutions as well as the pervasive corruption which is at the peak in the country.
NUP led by Hon Robert Kyagulanyi also pointed out that the population expects a lot more from the EU and all development partners when it comes to pressing for the rule of law in Uganda.
“Ultimately, Gen. Museveni, like all despots, will never listen to statements of condemnation, however strongly-worded. He will only listen to firm action by the people of Uganda and the friends of Uganda.” Kyagulanyi was quoted saying
Among Present were Party Spokesperson Hon Joel Ssenyonyi Basekezi, his Deputy Waisswa Mufumbiro, Sec Gen David Lewis Rubongoya, Hon Francis Zaake, Eastern Region Deputy President Hon Nambeshe, Ali Bukeni aka Nubian Li, Chairman Nyanzi, among others.
The EU delegation is on a country wide visit to all political parties in the country to assess their performances and what they demand to make political ground more leveled as possible.
