Bobi Wine, Mpuuga lock horns over NUP constitution amendments

It is not well between the National Unity Platform President Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu and the Leader of Opposition Hon Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba as the two have once again locked horns over the new constitution ammendments in their party. #WhisperEyeNews

Recently, NUP ammended her constitution where a two term limit cap was imposed on all seats including the Presidency, Members of Parliament, District Chairpersons and councilors.

But according to Mpuuga, such ammendments were ignorantly made because NUP is a young party that needs experienced leaders who can stay for some time however the term limit cap will force some of them to leave which will affect the party’s performance in the National elections.

Mpuuga added that before these ammendments were made, some top leaders in the party were not consulted something that shows that the ammendments had some wrong intentions.

Bobi Wine is yet to comment soundingly about the amendments although our sources that attended the meeting indicate that Bobi Wine was also not in line with several articles in the new Constitution.

We shall keep you updated.
