UJA Tag of War: Sirajje Lubwama mocks Abubaker Lubowa: “you’re represented by NUP lawyer, George Musisi – use Kunga Kunga as your campaign slogan”

Veteran journalist Sirajje Lubwama speaks out on Uganda Journalists Association (UJA) elections accusing photographer Abubaker Lubowa of using Kunga Kunga as his campaign slogan after allegations of huge funding from NUP principal Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert in their court case.

Mr. Lubwama who has been a key leader and member of UJA, told Mr. Lubowa frankly; “it is no secret that you the lead petitioner that resulted in the holding of the Feb 25, 2023, UJA elections, you are represented by George Musisi who represents 32 National Unity Platform (NUP) supporters in the General Court Martial”.

“Your campaign slogan includes the phase Kunga Kunga similar to the NUP mobilization slogan. You’re NUP,” Mr. Lubwama said to Mr. Lubowa a pro-opposition journalist

The veteran journalist confirmed how Mr. Lubowa was secretly dealing with various opposition leaders and receiving help from many, including legal aid from Mr. Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert and NUP party.

The managing partner of PACE Advocates Counsel George Musisi is the leading lawyer in the petition filed by five journalists challenging UJA elections, and last week they got an interim injunction blocking the 25/02/2023 UJA elections.

Mr Lubowa led a section of journalists who meet Mr Wine in December 2022

Mr. Lubwama also explained that the current UJA president Mr. Rukundo Mathias is working closely with president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni basing on the recent UJA Kyambogo symposium where the President graced the function.

“It is no secrecy that Rukundo the incumbent UJA president is president Museveni’s man and he mobilized journalists at Kyambogo University to meet the president.
