The newly elected Board of Uganda Redcross society Mpigi branch has today held its first board meeting at Redcross offices in Mpigi Town Council.

The meeting was chaired by the newly elected chairman Kazibwe Ronald who had promised a paradigm shift after his election as the chairperson of the branch.

The Board has passed the resolution to set up a youth center on One Acre and plant a Redcross Forest Ecotourism center on one acre on Redcross land at Katende in Kiringente Sub County.

In the same meeting, the Uganda Red Cross Society Mpigi branch board also discussed development strategies including; Resource mobilization for sustainability, the functionality of the governance and management structures, branch visibility, and Youth engagement.

Members also drafted the annual budget for this calendar year, looking forward to implement the goals of the Redcross Society.

The branch board was elected on 26 November 2022, where Mr. Kazibwe Ronald who is also the Mpigi District Commercial Officer was elected the chairperson of the branch.

Newly elected members

Others on the board are; Vice Chairman: Karuhanga Charles, Treasurer: Mubiru Wilson Mwesige, Woman Representative: Mary Grace Nakitende, Woman Representative: Nakabuubi Aisha, Youth Chairman: Ssali Alfat, and Ms. Nalukwago Masiitwa was elected the vice youth chairperson.

Co-opted Members of the board are;
Mr. Sserwadda Patrick who doubles as the Mpigi District Production Officer was elected as secretary for business and resource mobilization, Ms. Najjemba Barbra, is the new risk Management and finance secretary.

Whisper Eye News journalist Mr. Mugonza Andrew is the new Media and Public Relations officer, and Lusiba Yusuf Gaina is the programs and projects manager.
