“Uganda started developing in 1986, previous years were regressive.”, says Museveni

President Museveni while in an interview with KTN news media came out to say that Uganda started developing in 1986 when he took power from Gen Tito Okello Lutwa. #WhisperEyeNews

According to the 4 star General, the previous years since independence from 1962 to January 1986 where regressive with the country only going through years of anarchy and turmoil caused by the past leaders like Dr Milton Obote, Idi Amin and the likes of Gen Tito Okello Lutwa.

Museveni said that when the NRM took power, there was nothing a like country called Uganda because every sector of the economy had broken down and the NRM took the duty to rebuild the state starting from scratch with the achievements being visible now.

Museveni added that unlike the past regimes, his reign has seen an increase in the country’s GDP, improvements in the areas of infrastructure like roads, buildings as well as the life expectancy of the people of Uganda.

Museveni also used the opportunity to tell his critics who accuse him of over staying in power making clear that the progress of Uganda does not depend on WHO is in power but WHAT is being done. He said that the WHO question was solved when the NRM restored democracy allowing people to choose their own leader and thus the biggest concentration should be put on WHAT should be done to make the country better in terms of development.
