Gen Museveni orders full mobilization of Kampala to fight deadly Ebola

President Yoweri Museveni @KagutaMuseveni has this morning added new directives this time targeting Kampala calling for the full mobilization of health workers and facilities to make sure that Ebola does not spread any further in the capital city. #Ebola #WhisperEyeNews

Museveni pegged his decision on the fact that two people had tested positive in the city and thus it meant their contacts are within the city who risk getting infected and spreading Ebola to others.

“For Kampala City, while the two cases that tested positive came from Mubende District and are regarded as Mubende cases, because of the presence of contacts of these two cases and the risks of infection, I have directed a full mobilization of Kampala City into a response mode.” The General said

Late last week, Gen Museveni ordered the lockdown of the districts of Kassanda and Mubende as the Ebola cases surged in the two areas ordering for the closure of bars, cinema halls, places of worship, and movement of passengers from and to the districts.

According to the ministry, 19 people have died since the announced outbreak of the deadly hemorrhagic fever on Sept. 20, 2022.
