On Friday 16th September last week  Law Development Centre – Lira campus, its staff, and the students reached out to Barapwo Primary school in Lira district with a heartfelt donation.

They had candid discussions with the pupils about their rights, duties, and carrier guidance on breaking all the barriers to staying in school and attaining their educational dreams.

At Barapwo primary school, LDC students-driven fundraising, led by Ms. Leah Kansiime and Otim Kennedy bought scholastic materials and other school needs that included school-going shoes, mathematical geometry sets, rulers, sanitary pads, and other assorted items. They also had a Bible and Quran study session.

Mr. Mulalira Faisal the assistant director of Law Development Centre – Lira pledged LDC’s commitment to contributing to education in Northern Uganda, introducing debate clubs to build confidence and oratory skills to enable the population to become lawyers in the future.

On their part, the school Administration and pupils welcomed the move and pledge to build strong working ties with the Law Development center.

The young pupils asked the visiting LDC staff to be allowed to visit LDC to see what happens there.

According to LDC’s official website, its Motto: is “Know the Law” and the mandate, To provide legal education to lawyers and nonlawyers, undertake research in topical legal issues, contribute to legal reforms, produce legal publications, teaching materials, and law reports, and also provide community legal services.
