“Gen Tumwine deserves to be buried at Kololo Cemetery, he is a national hero. “, says Ofwono Opondo

Government of the Republic of Uganda Spokesperson Mr Ofwono Opondo (@OfwonoOpondo ) has come out to say that the fallen 4 star General, Elly Tumwine deserves to be buried at the Kololo cemetery due to the fact that he is a national hero who sacrificed all to liberate this country. #WhisperEyeNews

Mr. Ofwono Opondo who has been a great friend to the man who fired the first bullet of the liberation war added that such great national heroes deserve to be buried in these safe places where the public and future generations can easily access to see and pay respect to their national heroes.

The burial program of the late General has not yet been released and as we report, his body is still kept at Bomba military hospital.

It is yet to be known if the family will allow the remains of General Tumwine to be put to rest at Kololo Cemetery or opt to take him back to his ancestral home in Western Uganda.

General Tumwine died in the morning hours of 25th August 2022 at Aga Khan University Hospital, Nairobi aged 68 after battling lung cancer for some time.
