He was behind the famous audio linked to Sulaiman Kidandala asking money from Gen Kale Kayihura, Kizza Besigye said this week on a morning political show on NBS TV.

The former president of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Rtd. Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye revealed how Mr. Sulayiman Kidandala Sserwadda was falsely crucified at the expense of Makindye Division Mayor Ali Kasirye Mulyanyama in the leaked audio where he was asking former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Gen Kale Kayihura money for survival locally known as “Okwekubako enfuufu”.

The audio pinned Mr. Kidandala who was then appointed Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) Deputy Lord Mayor by Lord Mayor Haji Erias Lukwago, that he was asking for money from Gen Kayihura to betray Hajji Erias Lukwago.

The former Kawempe North Lord Councillor Mr. Kidandala tried to explain to the public that he has never met or even asked for money from Gen Kayihura but his efforts were watered down by selfish political seekers.

Finally, Mr. Kidandala has been exonerated by Dr. Besigye revealing to the public that It was Mr. Mulyanyama who asked Gen Kayihura Ugx. 2m. Dr. Besigye’s statement has confirmed the rumors which trended after the leaked audio.

Kidandala was appointed by Lord Mayor Lukwago and approved by the authority after a long struggle.

However, Mr. Lukwago never signed the council minutes/resolution that carried Kidandala’s approval, an issue Jennifer Musisi clung on to deny Kidandala all his entitlements as the Deputy Lord Mayor.

Mulyanyama took advantage of Kidandala’s desperate situation. He convinced him that Gen Katumba Wamala is his uncle and that he would assist in solving the impasse at KCCA.

He (Mulyanyama) made an appointment to meet him however only to discover later that Mulyanyama had used Katumba Wamala’s name because Kidandala had totally refused to meet the Gen Kayihura.

In the last part of the audio recording, Mulyanyama confesses to Kayihura that Kidandala had refused to meet him, so he used Katumba’s name as a proxy.

Mulyanyama went ahead to ask for 2m for ‘Okwekubako enfuufu’. All this was later falsely attributed to Kidandala.

Many people were wondering how a Deputy Lord Mayor could ask just Ugx 2m from Gen Kayihura at a level of a senior politician Kindandala was. Many who knew Kidandala couldn’t believe the allegations.
