Commander Land Forces of the UPDF Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has come out to congratulate the son of Rwanda President Paul Kagame officer cadet Ian Kagame for almost completing his military training at Sandhurst military academy which is rated among the best military academies in the world.

Ian Kagame who is seen as the heir to the Rwanda’s throne is a serving military officer in the Rwanda national army known as the Rwanda Patriotic Front.

Ian who is in his early 20s unlike his elder brother Duncan Kagame who chose to do business after dropping out Sandhurst has lived to the expectation of his father Gen Paul Kagame who has for long wished to have his own biological son become a full well trained military officer.

“Let me congratulate my young brother, officer cadet Ian Kagame on almost completing the very gruelling course at Sandhurst. Unlike the elders we found in the military when we graduated, our generation welcomes all young people.”. Gen Muhoozi tweeted

It has forlong been a trend by African leaders to have their own children join the army and go through the specialized military training with many intending to have them take over after they leave power.
