Hon Mawanda pledges to construct two mosques in Igara East constituency, donates food items to Muslims ahead of Eid day

The Igara East member of parliament Hon Mawanda Maranga has today 5th, July 2022 commissioned to start constructing another two mosques, Kantunda Mosque in Bumbaire sub-county and Buyanja Mosque, Kyeizooba sub-county where Hon Mawanda will start to construct another mosque.

Speaking at the function Mr. Kakama David LC5 councilor for Bumbaire sub-county at commissioning the construction of the Mosque of Kantunda noted that Igara East should continue supporting and praying for their area Mp Mawanda because no one will do these things if it was not Hon Mawanda.

Mr. Habib Tibenderana the one who donated the land where Kantunda mosque will be built , noted that when he is dead or alive, people will remember him and thanked Hon Mawanda for what he is doing a cross the constituency.

At the Mosque of Buyanja the chairman of Buyanja Mosque appealed to the residents to welcome the progress which Hon Mawanda is bringing in the community.

In April this year, Hon Mawanda did a breaking ground ceremony to construct 7 mosques in Igara east constituency Bushenyi District.

Of those Mosques two of them have been finished, the one of Nyibingo mosque and Nyamyerande 4 all in Ruhumuro sub-county.

On the same day, hon Mawanda also gave out Eid items ahead of their celebration on Saturday 09th , July 2022

The function was held at Rwentuha Moslem playground where Muslims in Igara East received food items ahead of their Eid celebration.

Mr. Asingwire Joshua Personal Assistant for Hon Mawanda handing over food items to the Islam community at Rwentuha moslem playground encouraged Muslim community that Mawanda has been giving out these items ahead of all celebrations.

He also encouraged them that they should not sell these food items and let them use such items to pass in this hectic period.

These items include 5kgs of posho, 5kgs of Rice, 5kgs of sugar, 2kgs of salt, 2kgs of beans,2kgs of peas,5kgs of Irish potatoes, 2litres of cooking oil, and a bar of soap

Chairman LC2 for Rwentuha ward Mr. Kwatampora Haruna hails Micheal Mawanda for forever doing his role every Eid to give out food items to the Igara East Muslim community.

Hassan Mwesigwa the Islamic coordinator in the office of hon Mawanda has hailed hon Mawanda for supporting his constituents in these hard times.

Aisha Twinedembe one of the Muslims who received the food items has thanked Hon Mawanda for doing a great role in his constituency.
