Former Forum for Democratic Change President, Rt Col Dr. Kizza Besigye was released from Luzira prison on bail worth 3 million shillings. #Uganda #UgandaNews #WhisperEyeNews
Besigye who was arrested for inciting violence and engaging in demonstrations contrary to the Public Order Management act said that he does not care how many times he will be imprisoned as long as Uganda is free one day from Gen Museveni’s dictatorship.
Besigye added that he was surprised by the first Magistrate who had imposed a 30 million shillings cash bail adding that even the revised 3 millions shillings bail was still a high fee considering the average monthly earning of Ugandans who get below 300,000 shilings monthly.
Besigye said that its high time Ugandans including the police officers who are used by the regime to arrest him woke up to desist the dictatorship that has left them to suffer amidst the spiking prices of goods and services.
He further added that government has neglected citizens because the regime and its oligarchs do not feel the pinch of the inflation since they get free money and embezzle more through corruption.
“State house alone consumes over a 70 billion a month that’s an average of 2 billion per day. How can a President who cares about his people be such luxurious when his people are dieing of hunger.” He said
Police has however vowed to arrest the four time presidential candidate should he get tempted to storm the streets once again.
