“It wasn’t Andrew M. Mwenda. ” Sheebah clears the air, reports rape case to CID

For almost a week now, social media was awash with allegations that veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda sexually assaulted singer Sheebah Karungi after the Boy Fire hitmaker shared her heartbreaking story of how a certain individual very powerful in the country tried to illegally touch her body.

Uganda Police Force spokesperson Afande Fred Enanga has said that today Tuesday 17th May, Sheebah Karungi officially filed the complaint to THE CID headquarters.

According to Enanga, Sheebah while interacting and recording a statement with the CID official named the criminal who was involved in the act of sexually assaulting her.

Enanga adds that a team from CID has kicked off the investigations to make sure that justice is served.

Enanga thanked Sheebah for taking the courage to report the matter adding that the Uganda Police takes matters of Gender-based violence seriously.
