2021 polls: Rubaga division mayor NUP candidate Mberaze Mawula leading with 65% as DP’s Angella Kigonya tails with 20%

Bobi Wine’s royal supporter Mberaze Zacchy Mawula popularly known as Ttaata Namuli is leading in Rubaga division mayoral race with 65% according to opinion polls conducted in Rubaga Division.

Democratic Party (DP ) candidate a senior politician, former Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) lord councilor is trailing with 20%.

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) candidate the incumbent Owek. Nabbosa Juliet Ssebugwawo is in a distant third with 10% according to opinion polls.

Rubaga residents argue that Owek. Nabbosa has had enough time as the division mayor and is demanding change.

“We are going to vote for Ttaata Namuli (Mr Mawula) because he is close to hon Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert and is the flag bearer for our NUP party,” says Kabanda Andrew a resident of Kigagga zone in Nateete.

Mr Mberaze is the flag bearer for the National Unity Platform (NUP) and has had a best campaign than his competitors in the race.
