2021 Polls: Zaake Francis Butebi leading Mityana Municipality with 80%. Whisper Eye News

Mityana Municipality MP Zaake Francis Butebi is poised to retain his parliamentary seat with a landslide victory.

According to the opinion polls conducted in the constituency, MP Zaake is leading with 80% in the race followed by Democratic Party (DP) pro Museveni candidate Abraham Luzzi with 12%.

Luzzi contested in the NRM party primaries last year and lost to Bugembe John Mary who is toiling with 8%.

He joined DP which immediately handed him the flag to contest for Mityana municipality seat to oust NUP’s Francis Zaake.

Mr Luzzi while campaigning in Busimbi division of Mityana municipality recently rallied his supporters to vote for President Yoweri Museveni before they vote for him.

This left National Unity Platform (NUP) party flag bearer MP Zaake with no competition.

MP Zaake has been close to NUP presidential candidate Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert popularly known as Bobi Wine, and this has earn him more popularity in Mityana and Uganda.

Zaake has initiated various programs to change the life of needy and interest groups of people in Mityana.

He has given out Boda Bodas to youths, supportive materials to Women groups among others.

During the amendment of Article 102(b) Hon Zaake vote no, which was the voice of his constituency.
