Cranes Coach Mckinstry optimistic that the boys will do a great job

By Whisper Sports

The Uganda cranes team is in Cameroon to participate in the forthcoming CHAN Tournament kicking off this month. Cranes coach says the team is in good shape and is hopeful the squad he has in camp is good enough to put up good displays in the tournament

“We are looking at opportunities to add one percent or two percent there. There is no major thing we want to change at this stage. The countdown is on and the boys are in good spirit. We are good to go” The Irish man said

The cranes are in group C where they will face neighbors Rwanda, Nothern giants Morrocco and first-timers Togo. The cranes have never reached the knock-out stage in this tournament with all the 4 times they have participated failing to leave the group stages.

The Cranes will be Captained by the Vipers SC skipper Halid Lwalila who was chosen over the experienced Tony Mawejje and Denis Iguma who have once represented Uganda in the AFCON final tournament.
Denis Guma was the captain of the Uganda Cranes CHAN team in the 2014 edition that was played in South Africa. In their group, they still faced Morrocco that they will face again this time round.

Sayid Kyeyune, Denis Iguma were part of the crane’s team that featured in the 2014 edition.
