Democratic Party (DP) candidate in Kyotera county Mr Mpalanyi John Paul is set to win President Museveni’s state minister for Micro Finance haji Haruna Kyeyune Kasolo.

According to the opinion polls made by Whisper Eye news on the ground, Mr Mpalanyi is leading the race with 55%.

Minister Kasolo is in the second position with 40.3%, and the National Unity Platform (NUP) candidate Mr Kirumira Charles Lwanga, is in a distant third with 3%.

Others Ssali Livingston, Pastor Ndalike, and Tebajjwe Adam scored 1.7% according to the survey.

Minister Kasolo has been affected greatly by the killing of Kayabula Ronald (deceased) who was shot by security operatives at Nakatoogo town in Nabigassa Sub-county.

The ongoing arrests of Kyotera residents are blamed on minister Kasolo.

Many People Power and DP supporters have been arrested in Kyotera by security operatives, making haji Kasolo very unpopular than before
