Bobi Wine says EC’s Byabakama has double standards , asks him to resign. Whisper Eye Reports
The National Unity Platform presidential candidate Hon Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has lashed out at the chairman of Ugànda Electoral Commission Justice Simon Byabakama of having double standards after he was summoned by the EC to answer allegations against him over defying health Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Bobi Wine who was addressing the media at a press conference he held at the Electoral Commission headquarters claimed that the EC’s Byabakama was not enforcing the health SOPs when it came to president Museveni and the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM )camp.
Bobi Wine clad in a white bullet proof said that the EC should have summoned NRM ‘s Yoweri Kaguta Museveni too.
“Museveni and other NRM aspirants have also been pulling crowds at their campaigns,” Bobi Wine said at the press conference.
The Kyadondo East MP was able to show them pictures of what he says is evidence to his claims.
The singer turned politician claimed that the body was trying to strain his campaigns by summoning him to unnecessary meetings and ignoring the brutality from Uganda police.
“I had to travel miles to get here (EC) today and I will have to miss a few campaign venues on my trail,” Kyagulanyi who is expected in Kiruhura and Ibanda fumed.
Yesterday EC bounced the NUP delegation insisting that Bobi Wine should attend physically.
Bobi Wine is optimistic that he will defeat president Museveni come 2021 elections setting up a precedent in a country that is yet to witness peaceful transfer of power.
