Uganda Registration Service Bureau (URSB) gets a new boss .

The board of directors of Uganda Registration Service Bureau has appointed a young lawyer Mercy Kainobwisho as the new Registrar General.

Her appointment follows the immeidate departure of Mr Bemanya Twebaze whowas elected the Director General Africa Intellectual Property organisation.

According to sattaement issued by the Minisitry of ICT and NAtionalGuidance , Ms Mercy Kainobwisho beat seven others to emerge successful during internal interviews on decemeber 2 in Kampala.

Who is She?

Ms Mercy Kainobwisho 41 years old lawyer previus had served as the director ofintellectualproperty at Uganda Registration Srvice Bureau .

She also served as the head of Business Services Bureau and manger of intellectual property

The Uganda Registration Services Bureau is an autonomous statutory body established by Chapter 210 Laws of Uganda in 1998. The Bureau was created to take over the functions of the Registrar General’s Office under the Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.

The Act came into force on the 16th of August, 2004 and the self-accounting status was granted in July, 2010. The bureau is governed by the Board of Directors and the Chief Executive Officer is the Registrar General.
