Uganda’s Minister of Gender, Labour and social Development Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze won massively in the ongoing National Resistance Movement (NRM) party primaries.

Minister Tumwebaze defeated his opponents Bahati Kato Justus and Asasira Dickens for the NRM flag bearer of Kibale East constituency in Kamwenge district.

According to Mugisha Asuman the NRM Electoral Commission Returning officer for NRM Primaries for Kamwenge district, Kibale East constituency MP, told Whisper Eye news that unlike other areas in Kibale East NRM primaries elections were free and fair.

Mr Mugisha declared Mr Frank Tumwebaze Kajyijyi as the overall winner who scored 34,925 votes.

Bahati Kato Justus came second with 5,086 which is 11.9 percent of the total vote and Asasira Dickens scored 2,806 which is 6.6 percent.

Who has polled the highest number of voters 34,925 representing 81.6% as the duly elected NRM flag bearer for Kibale East constituency, Kamwenge district, member of Parliament 2020,” declares Mr Mugisha.

Frank Kagyigyi Tumwebaze is a Ugandan educator and politician.

He is the current Minister of Gender, Labour and Social Development in the Ugandan Cabinet.

He was appointed to that position on 14 December 2019.
