Tears as Singer Joseph Mayanja popularly known by his stage name Dr Jose Chameleone visit the family of killed supporter Viper Copper II Sulphate real names Ashiraf Jjala.
Jjala (deceased) was brutally beaten by police officers on Tuesday during the process by which police interrupted the function of opening Mr Mayanja’s offices at Mengo, along Balintuma road in Kampala.
His friends have told Whisper Eye news that Mr Jjala was shot with a rubber bullet and beaten by police officers.
After their torture they took him and dumped him at Mulago hospital when he was unconscious.
“Viper was beaten by police officers using batons and he was shot with a rubber bullet on his head. Police officers refused us to take him after their torture they took him to Mulago hospital where we found him after some hours,” says Nemo a friend to the deceased.
Mr Joseph Mayanja has met family members including Sarah Nansamba the mother to the deceased, today evening Thursday August 3, 2020, at Kimombosa zone, Nakulabye in Rubaga Division.
“If is very unfortunate to lose the life of such a youthful responsible man. He has been active and productive to our team. It is a great loss to the music fraternity,” says Mr Mayanja.
“I’m taking legal action towards Uganda police force and individual officers who were unprofessional during executing their duties as trained officers on behalf of the state,” he added.
The deceased will be buried tomorrow in Mbale district.
