Untold Story: Money! Why credible Mukaku Lubega is sacrificed to suit Gen Saleh’s aide Mukasa Alysious for Lubaga North NUP card. Whisper Eye Reports

Today news circulated with the abruptly expulsion of Gen Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku from his responsibility as the vice chairperson of the Elections Management Commission headed by Mercy Walukamba, by National Unity Platform (NUP) president Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu.

Politicians and those interested in the struggle to dislodge president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni have wondered why credible Mukaaku has been fired at this moment.

Whisper Eye news is reliably informed that Mr Mukaaku was fired on orders of Gen Salim Saleh, to give way to his blue eyed boy Mukasa Aloysius in Rubaga South.

Mukasa Aloysius has been financing People Power activities through MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentumu’s elder brother Fred Nyanzi Ssentamu popularly known as Chairman Nyanzi.

He buys fuel, providing motor vans to Chairman Nyanzi used for his campaigns in Kampala Central.

Privy source close to Kamwokya told Whisper Eye news that Mr Nyanzi started raising his fears the day Mr Mukaaku was appointed to the post.

“Chairman Nyanzi assured me that Mukaaku must be fired for Mr Mukasa Aloysius to be safe. One time Mukaaku got close to Chairman Nyanzi, and he run away in fear of anybody to take picture with Mr Mukaaku which could cause him problems if Mr Mukasa Aloysius got to see it,” says the source.

The source further said that there are loyal People Power Movement leaders who have been very active but Chairman Nyanzi received money from rich candidates and they will not get the flag.

“We have suffered with Roy Ssembogga here in Kawempe South since his time as the guild president of Makerere University, look at Mubiru James of Rubaga North, among others. But they can not be given NUP flag, just because they have no money to bribe Chairman Nyanzi,” the source further said.

The source further told us that Mr Mukasa Aloysius although he has a low political profile but has a lot of influence in the newly formed political party NUP. Why ! Money!

Mr Mukaaku joined Bobi Wine in the Kyadondo East by-election who recruited many Democratic Party (DP) leaders in Bobi Wine’s camp.

He lead MP Mwiru’s campaign in Jinja East, he also lead the organisation of MP Assuman Basalirwa’s campaigns in Bugiri municipality.

And above all he commanded the few campaign agents of MP Kassiano Wadri who escaped police arrests and delivered the big win to People Power Movement when many opposition politicians were in hide and others were watching updates from Arua municipality as speculators.

The Arua by-election win made Bobi Wine more popular internationally, and created a momentum that has created the current political wave on Uganda.
