Shocking! Gen Salim Saleh candidates set to win NUP party tickets

Shocking! Gen Salim Saleh candidates are set to win NUP party tickets . Whisper Eye Reports

Confusion mars National Unity Platform (NUP) party as Gen Salim Saleh trusted spy network has used money to buy off NUP parliamentary tickets.

Privy sources from Kamwokya NUP headquarters, have reliably informed Whisper Eye that president Museveni young brother Gen Salim Saleh, through Chairman Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu has paid money to secure tickets for his trusted spying agents in the newly launched political party.

Among the list according to a reliable source from Kapeeka, are Kawempe North MP Latif Ssebaggala Ssengendo.

The sources told us that Hon Ssebaggala received money from Gen Salim Saleh to buy off NUP party ticket for Kawempe North constituency.

MP Ssebagala paid Ugx 100 m to be included on the coordinators’ list of People Power, Our Power Movement.

He pledged Ugx 400 m as a price tag for the final endorsement as the NUP candidate for Kawempe north constituency which money will sponsor NUP activities.

In Rubaga South Gen Salim Saleh’s trusted aide Mr Mukasa Aloysius has finalised a deal with chairman Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu to be given the ticket.

Mr Mukasa has tabled millions to chairman Nyanzi for the Rubaga South constituency parliamentary ticket.

He has also told his confidants that despite his links to Gen Salim Saleh he only needs the NUP card for whatever it takes .

On top of that money, Mr Mukasa has promised fuel, campaign posters and motor vans to Chairman Nyanzi in his Kampala Central campaign bid.

Although many People Power supporters are backing senior politician Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaaku as NUP candidate for Rubaga south constituency, their efforts may not yield anything as Chairman Nyanzi is aware that Mr Lubega is a poor man .

The source further told US that Chairman Nyanzi, Mr Joel Ssenyonyi have connived to print candidates certificates before time.

The two senior NUP party leaders have extra stamps which they use for their selfish and monetary deals.

In Nakawa Mr Joel Ssenyonyi stamped forms of youths on villages a week earlier before NUP officially released stamps.

Another Gen Salim Saleh’s candidate is Dr Gordon Katende Ssematiko in Mityana North.

People Power Movement has two loyal candidates; Mr Kintu Fred and Mr Keeya Ronald. According to residents in Mityana North, former MP Gordon Katende Ssematiko is too weak, and he has no attachment to the biggest percentage of voters.

However, reports from Kamwokya indicates that Gen Salim Saleh has paid money to secure him a NUP ticket.

In Mpigi district, National Resistance Movement (NRM) is fighting MP Nakawunde Sarah who did not support amendment of Article 102(b) which gave president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni green lights to rule for life in the famous ‘Togikwatako’ campaign.

Loyal NRM supporters are backing Nayiga Sayit to defeat, hon Nakawunde.

The same NRM people are fighting the strong opposition candidate who almost won the woman seat in 2016 Ms Nambooze Teddy.

A section of NRM in Mpigi have resorted to Joan Lule to crush opposition from Mpigi.

Reports indicate that Gen Saleh is also financing Joan Lule to get the NUP ticket for Mpigi district Woman MP seat.

Many candidates have registered their complaints about chairman Nyanzi Fred Ssentamu, however no big step has been taken by NUP officials to stream line the struggle as the country draw close to 2021 general elections.
