Road to 2021: Bobi Wine NUP fronts Youthful Fred Kintu to oust embattled minister Kiwanda. Whisper Eye Reports

Uganda state minister for Tourism Kiwanda Godfrey faces tough times to bounce back into the 11th Parliament as Mityana North legislator.

Privy sources in Mityana North told Whisper Eye News that he is facing stiff competition from his National Resistance Movement (NRM) rival in the primaries Kibedi Muhammad for the party flag.

Mr Kibedi according to reports had closely tighten the race with Minister Kiwanda for the NRM party flag bearer, and it is not clear who is winning.

To make matters worse, National Unity Platform (NUP) is likely to front youthful Kintu Fred who has mobilised youths to support Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine 2021 presidential bid.

Originally Mityana North has been predominantly an NRM constituency, but with the People Power, Our Power Movement Wave things are changing.

And Minister Kiwanda apart from a tricky NRM party primaries, pressure is also amounted from Mr Kintu a courageous young leader.

Mr Kintu is a resident of Nakyeriira village in Kitemu Parish, Bulera Sub county in Mityana North.

Other candidates in the race are Mr Keeya Ronald who was the district LC V councillor for Kalangaalo Sub county in 2011-2016.

And Dr Gordon Katende Ssematiko who represented this constituency for two terms in 1996-2001 and 2006-2011 loosing to Hon Kiwanda Godfrey.
