FDC Nakawa Division chairman Nvanungi crosses to DP, set to contest for Lord Councillor. Whisper Eye Reports

Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) chairperson for Nakawa Division Mr Nvanungi Richard defects to the Democratic Party (DP).

DP lost 11 MPs from Buganda region who joined Bobi Wine’s new party National Unity Platform (NUP), citing bad leadership of the party.

DP president general Norbert Mao, told members of the party to stay firm, the party is still strong and promised to recruit new members.

Among the new recruited members are Mr Nvanungi who has been the key FDC leader in Nakawa, and about 10 members from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Mr Nvanungi promised to recruit more members from FDC to strengthen DP in Nakawa.

He is set to contest for Lord councillor LC V for Luzira, Prisons, Butabika.
