Exclusive: Masaka city business mogul Emmanuel Lwasa defies NRM EC, to run as independent candidate. Whisper Eye Reports

Masaka City business mogul Emmanuel Lwasa has declared fresh bid for Masaka city mayor seat.

Last week on Friday, National Resistance Movement (NRM) refused to nominate Mr Lwasa claiming that he had no academic qualifications.

However, Mr Lwasa told Whisper Eye news that after one of the commissioner refused to nominate him, he went to Mr Tanga Odoi to register his complaint.

But he did not receive any help and finally he (Lwasa) was not nominated.

Today, Mr Lwasa has decided to run as an independent candidate for the post, despite being a royal member of the party since its inception.

“I know my competitors are weak, now they have decided to eliminate me using injustice. I’m very sorry, I can’t let down my supporters. Let me go for it as an independent candidate,” says Mr Lwasa.

Mr Lwasa has already printed new posters with a table as his symbol for 2021 Masaka City mayor bid.

He is the owner of Club Tavern Kick Kyabakuza, Lwasa Events, among other businesses in Masaka and Kampala.
