Tears: Kampala RCC sheds tears as city church is destroyed in Ndeeba. Whisper Eye Reports

Kampala Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Ms Mayanja Faridah shed tears after seeing debris of demolished historical St. Peters Church of Anglicans in Ndeeba, Rubaga division.

According to Christians living near the area, told Whisper Eye News that unknown people to them guarded by Uganda Police officers demolished the church in the wee hours on Monday.

Kampala Lord Mayor Ssalongo Erias Lukwago laughed at Kampala RCC Ms Mayanja Faridah whom she accuses for just shading tears instead of using her mandate as the head of security in Kampala.

“Woke up to the devastating news of the illegal desecration and demolition of St. Peter’s Church, Ndeeba,” says Lord Mayor Lukwago.

“It was maliciously and callously brought down deep in the night by some court bailiffs and hoodlums who were heavily protected by different security personnel,” he explained.

Lord Mayor Lukwago told Whisper Eye that “was equally shocked to find the Resident City Commissioner (RCC) Kampala, Faridah Mayanja, who is ostensibly in charge of security in the city, helplessly shedding tears by the debris”.

The Lord Mayor has pleaded to the Ag. Chief Justice, His Lordship Alfonse Kigamoyo Owinyi Dollo and the speaker of Parliament and other relevant agencies to salvage this sacred place of worship.

The Lord Mayor Lukwago has informed us that the church was maliciously and callously brought down deep in the night by some court bailiffs and hoodlums who were heavily protected by different security personnel.

This historical place of worship has existed for decades since colonial days and it’s a treasured piece of our heritage.

St. Peter’s Church Ndeeba is among the first Anglican churches in Uganda.
