Residents of the newly created city in Eastern Uganda of Mbale City led by aspirant MP Karim Massaba brought Mbale City to It’s kneels as business Came to a standstill.
Mr Karim Massaba led a campaign procession yesterday afternoon which paralysed businessin Mbale city.
The Industrial Division MP aspirant on independent ticket conducted a political procession that attracted hundreds and hundreds of his supporters.
Cheered by the excited crowds, Karim Masaba’s convoy strategically snaked through the central business district of the new city.
Industrial Area, Indian Quarters, Pallisa Road, Clock Tower, Bishop Wasikye road, Cathedral Road/Market street and Nauyo–Bugema all got combed by the jubilant Karim Massaba supporters.
Mr Massaba and his supporters were flashing various political signs including People Power’s fist.
A reliable source intimate to Kamwokya told Whisper Eye that People Power, Our Power principal Hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu popularly known as Bobi Wine is to support Mr Massaba come 2021.
The lively procession attracted other aspirants on various posts including; Robinah Nadunga Masibo (Mbale Woman MP aspirant) and Ivan Massaba, MP aspirant for Northern Division and those contesting for lower local government posts.
The procession later ended at Massaba’s magnificent home in Nauyo, Bugema town council.
Police from Mbale central police tried to thwart the mammoth procession at Indian Quarters only to withdraw under unclear circumstances.
