Terrible: Positive HIV/AIDs carpenter defiles five young children during the ongoing Covid-19 lock down

Police in Masaka City has arrested a man living with HIV/AiDs who has been defiling young school ongoing children in this Covid-19 pandemic lock down.

Ssendi Stephen, 48, a resident of Bwabikere village, Kalagala-Mukungwe in Masaka City was arrested for defiling five neighbors’ children.

The defiled children are said to be between 9 and 13 years old.

Mr Ssendi was arrested by residents of Bwabikere village as he was defiling the youngest child who later invited local leaders.

The LC1 chairperson Paul Lutaaya has informed Whisper Eye News that immediately after he got information he called Masaka Central Police station to handle the matter.

According to residents Mr Ssendi has been promising the young girls sweets and money as he defiled them.

“Ssendi promises these girls sweets and money, after his blasphemous acts, he askes them not to say anything to their parents,” says a resident of Bwabikere village.

Masaka police family and child protection unit officer Juliet Shida said that their investigations indicate that Ssendi has defiled all the five children.

“We are worried that apart from these five children there is a possibility that there are other young girls within the vicinity that could have faced the same and did not inform their parents,” says Ms Shida.

Mr Ssendi and the victims have been taken to hospital for HIV/AIDS testing.

Ssendi tested positive, while the five children have tested negative to the HIV virus for the first time.

Shida says, Ssendi will be taken to Masaka high court to answer aggravated defilement charges.

Shida said that defilement cases have increased during this period of Covid-19 lock down.
