As we draw close to 2021 general elections, interested Ugandans are strategically placing themselves to win elective posts in 2021.

Battle lines have been drawn in Kabaka Mutebi’s newly created city of Masaka.

Whisper Eye has learnt that in Nyendo-Mukungwe constituency five aspirants are in an open battle to dislodge MP Mathias Mpuuga Nsamba locally known as ‘Omwana w’Omutaka’ who is serving his second term as Masaka municipality MP.

The ministry of local governments annexed some areas from near by districts of Lwengo and Kalungu, and parts of Bukoto East and Bukoto Central constituencies to Masaka municipality to create the City, with two constituencies; Kimanya-Kabonera, and Nyendo-Mukungwe.

Among the aspirants;

East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) MP who is also the Democratic Party (DP) Vice president Fred Denis Mukasa Mbidde.

Through his Mbidde Foundation Association Mr Mbidde started early campaigns to defeat Hon Mathias Mpuuga.

Recently, the EALA MP is ever in Masaka mobilising support.

He is likely to have a DP flag after Hon Mpuuga joining hon Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu’s National Unity Platform (NUP) party.

Kiyimba Sarah is also in for Nyendo-Mukungwe constituency MP race.

She is likely to be the National Resistance Movement (NRM) candidate.

Sarah is a daughter to Masaka boss lady Hajat Sarah Kiyimba, who owns Brovard Hotel and many buildings.

Hajjat Kiyimba is among the top richest people in Masaka City, her daughter is likely to put up a nice show.

Other candidates ate; Katabaazi Francis Katongole, Ssekabira Michael.

Hon. Mathias Mpuuga joining NUP has given him a refreshed momentum, locals are enthusiastically support MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine.
