Gomba East constituency MP aspirant Ssaazi Godfrey hoodwinked security to launch the National Unity Platform (NUP) party in Museveni territory of Gomba district.

NUP party was unveiled by Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu also known as Bobi Wine on Wednesday morning.

A source intimate to Mr Ssaazi Godfrey camp, informed Whisper Eye, that People Power coordinator in Gomba district, Ssaazi had over 12 meetings in Gomba district on Thursday.

These meetings were held in four parishes of Namabeya, Mpunge, Nkoma and Nakijju all in Gomba district.

The source explained to Whisper Eye News that he called mainly those who were elected on People Power, Our Power Movement committees to launch NUP party.

“We were called by our coordinator Mr Ssaazi, to witness the first meetings of Bobi Wine new Party NUP. All what we wanted is to explain to us its meaning so that we can explain to our people,’ says the source.

” The organisers could not allow anybody to attend the meeting with a phone. So we switched off our phones as a way to avoid security operatives to disrupt our meetings”, the source added.

Mr Ssaazi made a scientific climax with a radio talk show on 99.5 Gomba FM based in Kanoni at Saaza.

During the talk show Mr Ssaazi has asked the people of Gomba to support NUP party claiming that it is led by their own son (Bobi Wine).

Mr Wine who started the People Power, Our Power Movement in 2017, moved a head to launch the NUP with an umbrella as its symbol in the forthcoming general elections.

Gomba district is among NRM strong holds, where President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Kisozi farm located.

In last elections National Resistance Movement (NRM) won all major elective posts in the district.
