The opposition Uganda Federal Democratic Organisation (UFDO) chairman Dr Aggrey Kiyingi has congratulated Kyadondo East MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu who is also the president of the newly launched National Unity Platform (NUP) party.

The senior cardiologist based on Australia is following closely all political, social and economic event unfolds in Uganda.

A source intimate to Dr Kiyingi informed Whisper Eye News that he was pleased with the charisma of People Power, Our Power Movement showed while launching NUP party.

However, Dr Kiyingi has advised MP Kyagulanyi to employ means of working with people who may not necessarily like to join the NUP party.

According to the source, Dr Kiyingi said that the idea of People Power, Our Power Movement must continue and be used as a tool to welcome everyone from all political parties, platforms and non political groups to increase the pressure on Kampala government.

“There is a need to maintain that charisma that was exhibited during the launch of the NUP party. Recruitment is needed as well as Unity”, Dr Kiyingi said according to the source.

Although many Ugandans have lost hope, with beliefs that opposition political parties and platforms can not defeat president Museveni come 2021, Dr Kiyingi assured Ugandans that change is coming.

He asked all opposition leaders with capacity to intensify mobilisation and awareness in rural areas jointly without internal fights within opposition forces.

On Wednesday, pop music star popularly known by his stage name Bobi Wine launched NUP party with the Umbrella as the symbol for 2021 general elections.
