Road to 2021 Race: Dr Abed Bwanika eyes MP seat in Masaka. Whisper Eye Updates
Three time presidential candidate Veterinarian Dr Abed Bwanika has declared to contest for the newly created constituency Kimanya -Kabonera located in Masaka City.
Dr Abed Bwanika declared publicly during a series of meetings in Masaka City during the weekend.
He asked residents to vote him as their representative for the good of the Buganda’s prominent new city of Masaka.
Whisper Eye news has been reliably informed that Dr Abed Bwanika will be backed by People Power, Our Power Movement led by Hon. Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu in the forthcoming elections.
Dr Abed was convinced by MP Kyagulanyi’s strength on the ground as the biggest percentage of opposition supporters prefer pop Music star who turned politician also known by his stage name Bobi Wine.
“I have stood for president and traveled the whole of Uganda campaign against president Museveni. I have the capacity to contest again, but I have decided to support my young brother, Hon Kyagulanyi,’ says Dr Abed Bwanika.
” There is no question I will contest for Member of Parliament of Kimanya-Kabonera constituency in our beloved new City Masaka, he said.”
According to Dr Abed, he told us that residents of Kimanya-Kabonera constituency have decided to support his candidature.
“Residents have decided to support my candidature, however we must support Hon Kyagulanyi to take over government to develop our country”, Dr Abed explained.
Abed Bwanika (born 1 August 1967) is a Ugandan veterinarian, politician, and pastor. He is the former President of the People’s Development Party, an opposition political party in Uganda.
He quit his party and rejoined Democratic Party the most popular party in Masaka.
Abed Bwanika was born on 1st August 1967, aged 52 in Kimwanyi, Kiteredde parish in Kingo.
By 1967 it was Masaka district, later become Lwengo district, and now it was annexed to Masaka municipality to create Masaka City.
He studied at Kigezi High School, Masaka Secondary School, and joined Makerere University graduating with Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine, and Master of Veterinary Science.
Dr Abed Bwanika is married to Gladys Namusuwe, and he is a senior pastor at Christian Witness Church (CWC) Ntinda, Kampala.
Other candidates eyeing the same seat are; National Resistance Movement (NRM) Masaka based tycoon Mr Asiimwe Robert, Masaka district chairman Jude Mbabaali, Masaka municipality mayor who is working as the Acting Masaka City Mayor Kayemba Godfrey Afaayo, among others.
