Before police dispersed the group it appealed to all Ugandans with Interest to run as People Power Candidates on the various positions of MP, Local Govts and Special Interest Groups Elections that the process having started on the 2/07/20 was meant to close today 17/07/20.

We have however been overwhelmed by applications since we started much of which you have witnessed on the daily. Our Coordinators upcountry have too been collecting forms for Local Government positions and have received requests from the Public for an extension so as to accommodate every one. noted Samuel Mukaku

So far the these are the statistics of forms returned per position

According to People power officials whereas this extension applies to all positions, we have specific interests in Special Interest Groups Elections and lower local governments. We therefore call upon our Youth in all Villages to rise up and form groups of nine people power youth per village to pick nominations from their District Electoral Commission Offices. Our People Power PWDs should equally form groups of five per village and pick nominations from District EC offices starting 29/7/20.

Samuel said that the extension is due to overwhelming Public outcry, and the transport challenges due to COVID lockdown.
