Tamale Mirundi unveils candidate that will contest with Sam Kuteesa’s daughter in Mawogola MP seat

Tamale Mirundi unveils candidate that will contest with Sam Kuteesa daughter in Mawogola . Whisper Eye Reports

Former press secretary to president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni Tamale Mirundi has unveiled Mr Salim Kisekka to contest for Mawogola North MP seat.

Mawogola North constituency is represented by Foreign affairs minister Sam Kutesa who recently introduced his daughter Shatsi Musherure to replace him.

However, his campaign and political assistant Salim Kisekka did not welcome the decision and declared interest to replace his master, Hon Kutesa.

Now with the support of veteran journalist, and outspoken Tamale Mirundi, Ssembabule has turned into a battle filed between National Resistance Movement (NRM) diehards.

Mr Kisekka who has been a right hand for Minister Sam Kuteesa’s political moves in the constituency since 2011 confirmed to Whisper Eye News that he is ready to represent people of Mawogola South in the 11th Parliament.

“Shatsi cannot leave America and come to represent the struggles and aspirations of the people of Mawogola North. She can’t even know what happens in Mawogola. I, Salim , know what we go through and what the people of Mawogola want,’ says Mr Salim.

Whisper Eye is reliably informed that many NRM top leaders are backing Mr Salim against Kutesa.

Hon Sam Kuteesa has dominated the politics in the area since 1980.

And on various occasions he has been unopposed within the NRM party and general elections.
