Dr Jose Chameleon dismisses ‘Scientific Elections’ asks opposition to focus on Museveni

Kampala Lord Mayor aspirant Dr Jose Chameleon dismiss ‘Scientific elections’ asks opposition to focus on Museveni . Whisper Eye Reports.

East and Central Afro Beat music Champion Mr Joseph Mayanja, popularly known by his stage name Dr Jose Chameleon refutes EC revised road map for the 2020/21 general elections.

Dr Jose Chameleon told Whisper Eye, that president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni is diverting opposition forces by circulating the myth of digital elections as he prepares him self for the forthcoming elections.

‘Digital Campaigns won’t work, they are a diversion and a baseless myth.

I’m surprised that the electoral commission can make such impotent proposals towards elections – the most important public event in the country,’ says Dr Jose Chameleon.

“Elections are one of the most volatile issues of Uganda since independence, how can Justice Simon Mugenyi Byabakama, a justice of the high court, fail to understand that, for him to make such a mockery on our stability, he stated”

Mr Mayanja said that Ugandans want a change of leadership.

“Ugandans want change, they have been patiently waiting for it for 35 years.

All they want is a process as clean and fair as possible. To stop them, you must have powerful reasons, he explained.”

The issue of COVID 19 is not such an issue compared to our election history, according to Mr Mayanja.

Singer Dr Jose Chameleon said that COVID19 is a pandemic that is curable, and soon, it will be history.

‘We know that at an international level, breakthroughs are being made to arrest it. Therefore, while we remain conscious, we can not live in fear permanently, says Mr Mayanja.”

He dismissed the talk of, COVID-19 will catch you, don’t go to work, don’t go to pray, don’t do this, don’t do a normal election, is not sustainable.

Artist turned into politician further explained that election outcomes led to death of thousands of people in Luwero, up to now Luwero has not recovered, yet even families that lost people to AIDS have recovered.

So the cost of a vote, badly managed could be too huge, for us.

Mr Mayanja asked Justice Byabakama and Hon Rwakoojo four things;

  1. How are you going to enforce this proposal? Because people are going to defy it. Do you have the capacity to stop public campaigns in every village of Uganda with numerous candidates without blowing up this country?
  2. Do you want to create a police or a military state because you want to have this election your way?
  3. Do you think we can hold an election without risks? Do you think COVID is more risky than a bad election? There will always be a trade-off of risks. Some risks are heavier than others.
  4. Do you want an election or a selection? If you want an election then don’t waste our time with digital tricks because they won’t work.

“I therefore propose that we instead dialogue and have a workable balance before its too late,’ warns Mr Mayanja.”
