NRM primaries to quickly take place, Says Rogers Mulindwa .Whisper Eye Updates

The National Resistance Movement (NRM) Party is set to hold party primaries after the release of a revised Electoral Commission (EC) road map for Uganda’s 2020/21 general elections.

According to the Senior manager of information, communication and public relations for NRM party Mr Rogers Mulindwa, the party was waiting for EC’s road map after disruption of Covid-19 lockdown.

‘The Secretary General Rt. Hon. Justine Kasule Lumumba could not issue an internal revised Party Road Map before the National Electoral Commission (EC),’ says Mr Mulindwa.

“Now that we are in receipt of the national EC Road Map, the secretariat has already embarked on the exercise of revising our road map backwards to suit in the dates issued by Justice Byabakama, he added.”

NRM secretary general hon Kasule Lumumba will present the revised edition to the Central Executive Committee (CEC) for approval and further guidance.

‘After accomplishing all these steps, the Secretary General will release our internal road map,’ Mr Mulindwa said.

Mr Mulindwa explained that all activities will be done at the earliest to avoid time wasting and catch up with the EC dates as scheduled in its revised road map.

“I however urge all those intending to contest at different levels to critically take note of the national EC road map dates especially in the areas of the submission of academic papers to EC for verification and the resignation for public servants,’ warns Mr Mulindwa.

NRM passed the resolution that it’s party primaries elections by lining up by party members.

According to the Electoral Commission, due to the outbreak of Covid-19 this can not happen.

Now the question to the ruling party is what method are they opting to use give the limited time to the general Elections.
