DP, ANT left out as Bobi Wine and Besigye hold joint presser

Uganda’s oldest political party, the Democratic Party (DP) and Alliance for National Transformation party (ANT) were left out as People Power Movement led by MP Kyagulanyi Robert Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine and former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) president Dr Kiiza Besigye and his People’s government hold a joint opposition presser.

Under a new political frame work of United Forces of Change, at Floral Hotel in Wakiso.

Yesterday, Kyadondo East MP hon Kyagulanyi and Dr Besigye invited a 30-man team each at the press conference where the two opposition platforms launched a new campaign ‘No, Nedda’ intended to call for accountability for the Covid-19 funds.

Gen Gregory Mugish Muntu the president of ANT and Hon Norbert Mao, the president of DP did not attend the presser for the United Forces of Change.

Politically the move has weakened the two party leaders, and may create new disagreements between members of the United Forces of Change and abandoned party leaders of DP and ANT.

Political analysts have advised opposition to work for a joint program inclusive of all opposition parties, pressure groups, political platforms to face president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as a united opposition
