The Ministry of health in Uganda on Saturday announced 36 more cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the country to 593 .

The Ministry also said that 82 patients had recovered from the virus to date.

Uganda still maintains no COVID-19 related death since its outbreak.

However 8 health workers have tested positive and are undergoing medical treatment at Mulago and other health centres.

By press time Prime Minister Rugunda had undergone self isolation after reports came out that his contacts tested positive.

The Uganda government had imposed strict confinement measures shortly after the announcement of the first coronavirus case in March .
