Covid-19: 24 truck drivers & 12 contacts test positive as Uganda’s cases hit 317

36 new coronavirus pandemic cases have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 in Uganda. Whisper Eye Reports.

Whisper Eye has learnt that 24 new cases are Truck drivers who arrived via Elegu, 2 via Malaba and 1 was from Lia Point of Entry in Arua taking Uganda’s total number of confirmed coronavirus cases to 317.

The country health ministry, in its daily update this evening of Thursday confirmed these new rising covid-19 cases.

The new cases , 12 new cases are a contact of the previous positive truck driver , a report adds.

All contact positive cases are under Quarantine, the ministry confirmed.

Uganda now has 317 covid-19 cases since march.

Uganda also handed over 26 positive foreign truck drivers to their respective countries .

Uganda has now registered 69 recoveries according to the ministry of health with no reports of death.

Malaba, Busia and Mutukula border points turn out to be the most risky areas as far as Covid-19 is concerned.

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID19) is a communicable respiratory disease caused by a new strain of coronavirus that causes illness in humans.
